  • Another spring May weekend is almost here and there is plenty going on. If you have not made your plans for this weekend, check out some of these great events:

    • 2012 Greek Festival – Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral – Norfolk – The 2012 Greek Festival, Tidewater’s oldest and largest ethnic festival, will include the traditional Greek cuisine, exciting Greek entertainment, arts and crafts, beautiful jewelry, tours of the Cathedral, and the very popular Drive-Thru. All proceeds from the festival benefit the Cathedral’s Ministries as well as local community charities. *
    • Spring Plant Sale – Norfolk Botanical Gardens – Norfolk – Our annual SPRING PLANT SALE has long been known throughout the region as one of the best places to pick up unusual plants at bargain prices. This year is no exception, with a bumper crop of some of the best looking plants to date. **
    • Monsters On The Beach – Oceanfront – Virginia Beach – Charles Barker Toyota Scion Monsters on the Beach, presented by Production Off-Road, brings thrills and chills to the Virginia Beach oceanfront as Monster Trucks battle for ultimate sand domination! This family-targeted event is loud, fast, and exciting. A course is built right on the beach at 6th Street, with bleachers overlooking from the boardwalk. ***
    • PANorama Caribbean Music Fest – 24th Street Park – Virginia Beach – The PANorama Caribbean Music Fest is a musical adventure set to the soothing sounds of steel pan music. The festival’s casual atmosphere appeals to the island community and people of all ages who are intrigued by the unique sounds and style of steel drum music! Fusing together the rhythm of steel bands, ocean breezes, and great Caribbean food, the breathtaking Virginia Beach oceanfront becomes an “island paradise” for the weekend.  ****
    • Armed Forces Day Toy Soldier Show– Virginia War Museum – Newport News – Join us for this fun filled event for the entire family. Experience memories of your own childhood or create new ones with children or grand-children. Vendors will be selling antique and contemporary toy soldiers and miniatures. See figures and scenery portraying pivotal points in world history. Historical miniature kits and models in metal and plastic are also for sale. *****
