Our Thought in One Place

  • In all the hub-bub of Memorial Day Weekend, which often means the start of vacation season and summer break for students, the real reason for Memorial Day can sometimes be forgotten.

From our JASE family to yours, we want to say thank you to all those who serve to protect our nation and our ideals. And we want to say a special thank you to all those who have given their life for that cause and to the families and loved ones who have suffered because of that loss.

Be safe. Have fun. Enjoy your time with family and friends. But most importantly, don’t forget to reflect on the price that was paid so we can enjoy a day like today!

A Heartfelt Thank You From The JASE Family On This Memorial Day

  • For years now, we Americans have read on the Internet and watched on the news how India, China and Japan are leading the technology push across the globe.

On one hand, I can believe the reports. I see first-hand how American ISPs throttle bandwidth and keep services as simple in nature as speedy access to the Internet tight in their pockets and charge exorbitant rates. I see how smartphone providers limit features and Internet access to make an easy buck off the American consumer.

On the other hand, I’m a bit leery of the reports. I see entrepreneur brains churning on an almost daily basis here in Hampton Roads (Virginia). I see the push to technology leadership. I see the push to breaking new ground in creative advertising. I see the push by consumers to own the latest and greatest smartphones, tablets and convertible notebooks.

So when I see reports like the chart below from the Indian television show Storyboard, I wonder if “everything we read on the Internet is true?” Or if the truth is that everything we read on the Internet is true, but only in the author’s mind? Who would have thought that in a technology-leading country like India that more ad dollars were spent in 2012 on print ads than on Internet ads? Who would have thought that in a technology-leading country like India that ad dollars spent on Internet ads are on the way down? This is certainly not a story that would get pushed by Mashable or TechCrunch or HubSpot or Huffington Post, for that matter. Is this a sign of things to come for the United States market?

The goal of my writing this piece is not necessarily to enlighten you on the statistics of where advertising dollars are actually spent in technology-leading countries – but to entice you to do your own research. Understand the business landscapes that you want to excel in. Don’t necessarily take the word of an Internet website that others find popular.

Do your own research, understand the situations and your (or your clients’) needs, analyze the data yourself, and draw your own conclusions which should turn out to be a bit more realistic. JASE has done this for years and it truly seems to be a good formula for success.

    2012 Ad Spending in India

  • December 7, 1941 is a date that will live in infamy. President Franklin D. Roosevelt made that proclamation 71 years ago and those words still ring true today. It was the day Japan invaded the peaceful waters of Pearl Harbor with a surprise attack on the US Pacific Fleet. On that day all 8 of the US battleships were sunk or heavily damaged, 188 U.S. Aircraft were destroyed, 2,402 Americans were killed and 1,282 more were wounded. The next day the United States declared war on Japan.

Today the JASE family chooses to remember this day and what it means to our great country. Thank you to all the service men and women who protect this great nation from all threats. God Bless the USA!

  • Have A Happy 4th From JASE Digital Media

As you travel around this 4th of July weekend, we here at JASE Digital Media wanted to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy 4th of July!

Summer is here, activities are in full swing, and everyone looks forward to the beach, the pool, cookouts, family, and fireworks. All of these great traditions have the American spirit woven all throughout them and it makes us proud to be a part of this great nation!

We also want to take a second and thank all who fight and have fought to protect this great country and our freedom. It is here, in this US of A, that we get to be free of tyranny, to practice and do as we want, to own a business and work for ourselves.

It is truly the American dream to work and make something of nothing. We live that sentiment daily here at JASE and we could not be more thankful for the opportunities our freedom provides us.

    Happy 4th!
